چکیده

The wind and wave derived from the scatterometer altimeter on board Chinese Haiyang-2B (HY-2B) satellite were systemically evaluated in this study. analysis of matchups between Advanced Scatterometer (ASCAT) winds HY-2B with speeds up to 25 m/s showed a 0.78 Root-Mean-Square Error (RMSE) 0.97 Correlation (COR), superior 1.2 RMSE 0.93 COR HY-2B. Simultaneously, significant heights (SWH) measured collocated measurements Jason-3 altimeter. Analysis calibration concluded that observations performed well at low-to-moderate sea states, yielding an 0.29 m for SWH 0.98 geophysical data records (GDR) after systematic corrections using MOE determination method. In particular there 20 typhoons occurring China Seas during 20192020. evaluation high when compared those (SWH > 7 m) Jason-3/WW3 indicated is accurate, 0.87 m/0.68 0.85 SWH. Finally, statistical speed was investigated through waves simulated WAVEWATCH-III (WW3) / HYbrid Coordinate Ocean Model (HYCOM) current surface temperature (SST). currents below 1 less than 3 m, while term SST should be included retrieval. addition, states likely affect accuracy

Effects of Winds, Tides, and Storm Surges on Ocean Surface Waves in the Japan/east Sea

Wind driven oceanic surface waves have a major impact on marine activity, especially near the coastal regions. Strong winds associated with winter storms induce storm surges along the west coast of Japan. Combined high wind conditions, tides, and storm surges can have a tremendous impact on the surface wave fields. Accurate wave forecast becomes an important issue at various operational forecas...

Sea surface topography retrieved from GNSS reflectometry phase data of the GEOHALO flight mission

Sea surface topography observations are deduced from an airborne reflectometry experiment. A GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receiver dedicated for reflectometry was set up aboard the German HALO (High Altitude Long Range) research aircraft. Flights were conducted over the Mediterranean Sea about 3500m above sea level. A signal path model divided into largeand small-scale contribution...

the role of russia in transmission of energy from central asia and caucuses to european union

Sea surface temperature signatures of oceanic internal waves in low winds

[1] In aerial surveys conducted during the Tropical Ocean–Global Atmosphere Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Response Experiment and the low-wind component of the Coupled Boundary Layer Air-Sea Transfer (CBLAST-Low) oceanographic field programs, sea surface temperature (SST) variability at relatively short spatial scales (O(50 m) to O(1 km)) was observed to increase with decreasing wind speed. A unique...
